Lloyd and Mary Byers are natives of South Carolina. Lloyd has been a pastor, church planter, and missionary for the last four decades. In that time, he and Mary have served in South Carolina, Georgia, Nevada, Tennessee, and Guam. 

Lloyd and Mary started Joshua's Mission in 2006 to share their story, to inspire, and to serve and minister to soldier's families dealing with post-traumatic stress (PTS) and its related affects.  

They both attended Anderson University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. They currently reside in Nashville, Tennessee, and enjoy spending time with their two sons, Milam and Jared, daughters-in-law, Ashley and Jordan, and their three grandchildren, Joshua Gunnar, Remy Moses and Ryder John.

Mary served as the National President of American Gold Star Mothers for 2012-2013, an organization of mothers who have lost a son or daughter in the service of our country.
